WANDERER AND RAWENE WIN GEISHA AVINS THE UNDER 18 FEET TROPHY The conditions in the harbout on Saturday afternoon were ideal for yachting- J ’ Three events took place under the auspices of the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club; the First Class Club Handicap, Second Class Club Handicap, and the 18-fbot and under class for the C.arke and Morris trophy. There were excellent entries in all events, and the boats kept w-ell together. The First Class Handicap started at 3 p.m. sharp, over a 12-mile course, the following yachts competing:—Marangi (scr.), Waiiere II (9f), Ailsa (Hi), Viola (15{), Wanderer (12{) ? Kotiri (161). Wanderer won by Bmin. 16sec. from Kotori, which was 59sec. ahead of Viola. Time, lhr. 42min. 35sec. The Second Class Handicap started at 2.45 p.m. Rawene (15sec.) won from Mint (12sec.) by the close margin of Bsec. The Wairere (scr.) was third, being 2min. 46sec. behind the second boat. The following also competed: — Windward (1 j), Mana (5), Seabird (16). Time, 2hr. 7min. 30sec. over 12 miles. In the 18-foot and under class, Geisha (5), came in 59sec. ahead of Kewpie (lOsec.), which in turn was one second ahead of All Black (scr.), Wellesley (scr.), Peggy (Isec.), Eynin (6sec.), and Claire (6sem) also competed. Clair did not finish. Time, lhr. 26min. 37sec. over six miles.
