PORTRAIT PRESENTED TO NEW ZEALAND Lady Leigh Wood, sister of the late Alexander Turnbull, who bequeathed to t*e Dominion the library in Wellington named after him, has presented to New Zealand a valuable medallion portrait by Wedgwood of .Captain Cook, discoverer qt New Zealand, witli a reouest that it be placed in the Turnbull P. Skerrett, K.C., on behalf of Lady Leigh Wood, yesterday presented the medallion to the ActingPrime' Minister. Sir Francis Bell, in acknowledging the gift, said the Government received it with great pleasure; . it would be. placed, as the donor wished, in the Turnbull Library, and there preserved in memory of the great discoverer of New Zealand and of the late Mr. Tumbtill, the. generous donor of the library to the public. The medallion was purchased by the late Mr. Turnbull in London about 18 years ago, and bequeathed by him to his sister.
