BALANCE PAID TO SUDAN GOVERNMENT FOR BENEVOLENT PURPOSES (Roc. February 12, 7.55 p.m.) London, February 11. •'The House of Commons-authorised the Government to pay to the Sudan Government for benevolent purposes the balance of the half-million sterling fine received from Egypt in accordance with the demand made by Britain at the time of the Sirdar’s murder. Other payments out of the fine have been £40,000 to Lady Stack, £3OOO to Captain Campbell, aide-de-camp, injured at the time of the attack, and £5OOO to Fred March, the chauffeur who drove the Sirdar’s car. —Reuter.

THE SIRDAR’S MURDER NAMES OF ATTACKERS DIVULGED (Rec. February 12, 7.55 p.m.) Cairo, Februaij lilt transpires that the two individuals arrested a few days ago while endeavouring to escape to Tripoli, are Abd el Hamid Anayat, of the Student Teachers’ Training College, and his brother, Abd el Fattah Anayat, a student at the Royal School of Law. The latter admitted that he took part in the attack on the Sirdar, and gave the names of others connected with tiie outrage, including his brother’s. — Reuter.

ITALIAN TROOPS ON EGYPTIAN FRONTIER BRITISH OFFICERS TO INVESTIGATE (Rec. February 13, 0.5 a.m.) London, February 12. The “Daily Mail’s” Cairo correspondent reports that the activity of Italian troops on the western frontier of Egypt is causing anxiety. The Italian Legation says the troops are only preventing the Senussi tribesmen from importing arms. British officers have left hurriedly to investigate.—Sydney “Sun” Cable.
