BALANCE PAID TO SUDAN GOVERNMENT FOR BENEVOLENT PURPOSES (Roc. February 12, 7.55 p.m.) London, February 11. •'The House of Commons-authorised the Government to pay to the Sudan Government for benevolent purposes the balance of the half-million sterling fine received from Egypt in accordance with the demand made by Britain at the time of the Sirdar’s murder. Other payments out of the fine have been £40,000 to Lady Stack, £3OOO to Captain Campbell, aide-de-camp, injured at the time of the attack, and £5OOO to Fred March, the chauffeur who drove the Sirdar’s car. —Reuter.

The “Daily Mail’s” Cairo correspondent reports that the activity of Italian troops on the western frontier of Egypt is causing anxiety.
