CABINET-MAKING EFFORTS ABANDONED MARX’S GOVERNMENT MAY MEET REICHSTAG By Tiligkafh—Press Association. Copyright. Berlin, December 19. Owing to the impossibility of forming a Government commanding a certain majority, Cabinet-making efforts have been abandoned until the approach of the opening of the Reichstag on, January 5. In the meantime the Marx-Stresemann Cabinet carries on. Probably Dr. Marx’s Gbvernment will confront the Reichstag and take the chance of its being defeated. —Reuter. EVACUATION OF COLOGNE AN ALLIED ISSUE London, December 19. Questioned in the House of Lords regarding the evacuation of Cologne, Marquis Curzon pointed out that it was an Allied issue, and not one concerning Britain alone. The Allies must be satisfied that Germany was carrying out the military conditions of the Treaty- When the report of the Allied Military Commission of Control, which persistent obstruction by Germany had delayed, was received, the Allies would discuss whether the first stage of the evacuation could be carried out. His Majesty’s Government had not the slightest desire to continue the occupation.—Reuter.
