COMMERCIAL ITEMS WELLINGTON STOCK EXCHANGE SATURDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES On Saturday sales were reported of Now Zealand Refrigerating shares (20s. paid) at 235., and Westport Coal nt 345. Only a moderate business was done during the week, but values generally remain very firm except for Government stocks and bonds, which display an easier tone. The 4| per cants sold at £97 10s. and £97 7s. 6d.. with buyers offering £97 55.; the 5 par cent P.O. stock and bonds were in demand at £97 15s. and £97 17s. 6d. Business was done in the 5| per cents at £lOl 7s. Gd.. £lOl 10s., and £lOl 2s. Gd.. with sellers quoting £lOl 10s. Bank shares have been m good demaud and a fair number of sales were registered.
