NATIONALIST DEMAND FOR INDEPENDENCE FRENCH PREMIER ORDERS OFFICIAL INQUIRY (Rec. November 28, 7.30 p.mj BY TELECBAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. CbpraiGHT. London, November 27The Paris correspondent of “ The Times” reports that a disquieting situation has arisen in the French Protectorate of Tunis. It is now admitted that the Young Tunisian movement is taking definite shape and with Communist encouragement is assuming the character of a Nationalist demand for independence. M. Lucien Saint the French Resident-General in. Tunis, has come to Paris specially to discuss the situation, and has had lengthy conferences with M. Herriot. Secrecy is maintained, but it is understood that M. Herriot has ordered an official inquiry into affairs in Tunis. —“The Times.”
