WOMEN AND THE WAR MEMORIAL
APPEAL FOR HELPERS
(By
Woman.)
Preparations for Rose Day are in full swing, and judging by the help ttyat is. coming forward from all women, the success of it is assured. Promises of teachers, material, and hand-made roses have come unsolicited, which is very encouraging to all concerned. Permission has been granted to hold Rose Day on Tuesday, November 11, Armistice Day, and given fine weather the offerings on this day should surpass all other previous' efforts of the women in connection with this work. The erection of a symbolic monument to the memory of those whose life to their country was given in duty is very dear to women, and they feel that the time has come when this work should be done. Mrs. C. Morice invites all those interested in learning the art of rosemaking to meet at her house, No. 6a Hill Street on Tuesday at 2.30 p.m. Instruction will be given and the materialls supplied. The work can then be carried on in various ways.
