The Tairoa, at present .loading in the Wanganui roadstead, is now expected by the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Co. to arrive at Wellington to-morrow to continue loading. She will leave here next Thursday for Gisborne. TEKOA AT AUCKLAND. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Tekoa arrived at Auckland at J p m yesterday from London, via Panama. She is expected at Wellington on August 23, THE RIO CLARO. The C. and I). Line report that their chartered steamer Rio Claro will now leave Auckland this afternoon for Napier nnd Wellington to continue discharge ot her New York cargo. The vessel will arrive at Wellington, probably on Sunday. LOWANA LEAVES PANAMA. According to cable advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Co. the Lowaml arrived at Colon on August 10 ironi Montreal and Newport News, and left Panama on the same date for New Zealand ports. The vessel is due at Auckland on September 7, and at Wellington a week later. THE SUFFOLK. The Suffolk berthed at Dunedin at 2 p.m. yesterday, and will leave there to-inorrow afternoon for Sydney to load in Australia. THE PENNYWORTH. Cable news bus been received by Millar’s West Australian Hardwoods Co. that the steamer Pennyworth sailed from Bunbury on Augnst 9 with a cargo of jarrah for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, and Dunedin. The vessel is due at Auckland on August 23, and at Wellington about twelve days later. The cargo of jarran will bo discharge as follows:' —('34,0001t. at Auckland, 1,330,000 ft. at Wellington, nnd 56-I,oooft. at Dunedin. Included in the cargo are Cso,oooft. of sleepers. The consignees are the Government and the Millar Company. THE RUAHINE. The New Zealand Shipping Co. will now dispatch the Ruahlne from Wellington at 10 o’clock this morning for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers to unload the remainder of her London cargo. THE PORT CURTIS. The C. and D. Line steamer Port Curtis will leave BluK this afternoon for New Plymouth, where she Is due on Sunday to discharge the remainder o£ her London cargo. The vessel will sail from the Taranaki port on Wednesday to load at Oamaru, Timaru, Napier, and Wellington. She is due at Wellington about August 29, aud will leave here about August JI for Loudon, via Montevideo. THE CITY OF CANTON. The A. and A. Line steamer City of Canton will now leave Wellington to-mor-row afternoon tor Lyttelton Dunedin to continue discharge of her New York cargo. RIMUTAKA LEAVES NEWPORT. Cable news received by the New Zealand Shipping Co. reports that the Rli»utaka left Newport News on August 10 lor Boston and West Coast ports of Great Britain, en route from Auckland. CARGO FROM PACIFIC SLOPE. The Norwegian steamer Niels Nielsen. 5765 tons, en route from Portland, was expected to leave Seattle on Tuesday for Vancouver and San Francisco to complete loading for New Zealand. The vessel is to sail from San Fraucisco next Thursday for Auckland, where she Is due about September 14. The Huddart-Parker Company are the local agents. THE CANADIAN PLANTER. The Canadian Planter will leave Auckland to-morrow for Wellington, in continuation ot her voyage from Vancouver. The vessel is duo early on Monday morning. THE CORINTHIC. The Corinthic left Gisborne last night for Napier, from which port she is to sail at 8 p.m. on Saturday for Wellington. Tlio vessel is due at Wellington on Sunday to complete loading for London. LING NAM LEAVES HONG-KONG. The Chungwha Navigation Co.'s steamer Ling Nam left Hong-Kong on August 2 for Sydney, via Tarakan and Thursday Island. She is due at Sydney next Thursday, and will sail from there a couple ot days later for South American ports, via New Zealand and Tahiti. MAIIE.NO FOR SYDNEY. The Maheno is timed to sail from No. 1 north Queen’s Wharf at 11 o’clock tomorrow morning for Sydney direct. She will arrive at her destination o.u Tuesday next. THE RAMA. The Rama, from Niue Island via Auckland, is due at -Wellington this morning. She will probably remain here for some time before proceeding to the Chatham Islands. THE NIAGARA. The Union Co.'s R.M.S. Niagara is du» nt Suva to-morrow from Vancouver, via Honolulu, nnd should reach Auckland on Monday. The vessel will continue on her voyage to Sydney the following day. THE WAIPORI. The Union Co.’s Waipori sailed from Sydney at 6 p.m. on Monday last for FIJI and Auckland. She will bring Island produce and general cargo to Auckland. THE NGAKUTA. Word has been received by the Union Co. from Papeete that the Ngakuta sailed from there at 10.30 p.m. on Sunday last for Cook Islands and Auckland. THE TAHITI. The Union Co.’s R.M.S. Tahiti is to leave Sydney to-day for Wellington direct, arriving hero on Monday morning. She has passengers to land here, and is timed to continue on her voyage to San Francisco, via Rarotonga and Papeete, at 3 p.m. the following day. BANK REPORTED. The Pakelia, when approcahing East Capo from the north-westward in weather ot low visibility, reports having obtained Roundings—one of 62 fathoms, roek and fine sand, at a position East Cape bearing JB9)deg., distant 12.2 miles, and one sounding at jt position East Capo bearing 178 deg., distant 12.75 miles, giving 65 fathoms, rock. As the positions submitted qro considerably outside of the 1011-fnthoin contour-line shown on the Admiralty charts, reported soundings point to the existence of a bank in time locality. PAKEHA AT LONDON. Last evening the Shaw-Savill Co. received cabled advice that the Pakelia, which sailed from Wellington on July .1, arrived at London on Tuesday last. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. J. D. Parminter, second mate, lias left the Kamona, and Mr. F. E. O’Neill lias been engaged in his stead. Mr. I’armlnter has transferred to the Wainni in u similar capacity, relieving Mr. W. 11. MISCELLANEOUS. Tho ITolmwood arrived at New Plymouth on Tuesday from Newcastle with coal. Tho Kiihika is due at Wellmglon lomorrow, coal-laden from Newcastle. She will land part cargo hero, and should get away on Monday for Bluff and Dunedin to discharge tho balance. The Kalmanawa is due nt Wellington on Saturday morning, coul-laden from Westport. The Kaituna is due nt Wellington on Saturday with coal from Westport. Tho Ngatoro in expected to arrive nt Wellington to-morrow morning wit.li coal from Grcymoul.il. Tlio Walton Ifet New Plymouth on Tuesday afternoon for Newcastle. The Timaru Harbour Board notify that as from August 1 the illuminating system of the Timaru was changed from gaslight of about 200 c.p. to electric of about 500 C.p. The existing scheduled range nt visibility for this light is 10 miles, but, owing to its elevation, the additional power enables it to be seen beyond that range.
