TARANAKI OIL FIELDS, LIMITED.
For over half a century the existence of oil in Taranaki district has been known, and many and vaiied ntI tempts have been made to tap this I source of wealth. Quite recently Mr. Frederick G. Clapp, a petroleum exI port from the United States, examined ths field and reported favourably upo - i it. On the strength of this report, tlio. present company is. bein„ formed with a capital of £500,000. and in £1 shares, of which 150,000 shares are being issued. Tho issue has been underwritten, and as the underwriters are actually subscribing for 50 per cent ot tins underwritten shares, the number available for public subscription is only 75.000. The prospectus of the Taranaki Oil Fields, Limited, which was published yesterday, gave a wealth of detail, and every essential fact was enumerated. The amount payable ou application for shares is os. ne~ share, and ss. must be paid on allotment. but onl- such applications as arc nostmarkec on or before July 2-1. will bo considered.—(Published by arrangement.)
