ROSENEATH INCLINED TRAMWAY
WORK TO PROCEED. Yesterday tho Mayor, Sir. R. A. Wright, confirmed statements made as to the City Council’s intention to pro ceed with the ; c|>nstrilction of thv Roseneath inclined tramway or lift. It had formerly be decided, he stated, to refer the question of whether the council had power to proceed with "the work to the Supreme Court in an application for a declaratory judgment before making a start with the work, but the decision had been reconsidered, the onus now being thrown upon the opponents of the scheme. They had been informed, through their, solicitors, of tho council’s decision to commence the work within a few days, and n was now for them 'to decide whether or no they should apply, for an' in junction. If they did so the case would have to be thrashed out, otherwise the work would go right ahead.
