BODY FOUND BY RAILWAY LINE
INDICATIONS OF IDENTITY. By Teljsgbaph.— Press Associatiow. Masterton, June 3. The Coroner opened an inquest at Featherston to-day on the poorly nourished body of a 'man, about 30 years of age, found in a sitting posture near the railway line on the Rimutaka incline, on Monday morning. Surfacemen stated that they met , him on Friday walking along the line half a mile from the spot. He said that he was going through the tunnel. Broken fern at two spots not far from the body, with cigarette papers, a book, and a tweed cap, indicated that he had been resting. Apparently, he fell from one spot down a 14-foot bank to the railway line. There were three deep wounds which could not have been self-inflicted on tho back of the neck. War pension certificate 1464, and the name. Ernest E. Richmond, are believed to indicate his identity. The inquest was adjourned. ■
