SCULLING
CHAMPIONSHIP RACE ON JUNE 7. Bl TsLEGRArH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. □argaville, May 13, The Australasian championship sculling race has been definitely fixed to take place on the Northern AVairoa River, at Dargaville, on June 7, over a course of three and a quarter miles, for a stake of £5OO, subscribed by local residents. The present entrants are AV. M’Devitt and George Ceruti, of Australia, AV. Mason, AVhangarei, and Darcy Hadfield, Auckland. Several inquiries have also been made by prominent scullers from Australia. It is fully expected that at least seven will compete. Tlie race will be the first of its kind—an Australasian championship—and is attracting considerable attention. M‘DevSw>, Ceruti. and Mason are already training on the river. ‘ Hadfield is expected next week.
