PITTSBURG TRAM STRIKE
New York, May 10. A telegram from Pittsburg says that tho Mayor, Mr. William Magge, for mally demanded that the Pittsburg Railway Company should restore the tram service at the earliest possible moment, with whatever forces were available, and that he will afford police protection. The City Council passed an emergency ordinance creating a fund for tno purchase of tear gas equipment and riot .guns. The worst traffic jam in history resulted from the strike, which involves 3200 motormen and conductors. —Reuter.
