DEADLY GAS

A BRITISH DISCOVERY INVISIBLE & SMELL-LESS (Rec. May 12, 7.20 p.m.) London, May 12. Professor Delisle Burns, of London University, states that a deadly poisonous gas has been discovered that easily could be distributed from aeroplanes, is invisible and smell-less, but anyone breathing it would die in terrible agony six to twelve hours later. The gas sinks to the ground, and will haunt basements and subways for days. It can now be produced in big quantities. Gas masks are the only protection against it. Two tons of gas can be carried in a single aeroplane. That quantity would spread death over a quarter of a mile radius of tho spot whence it was discharged.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
