FATHER STEALS FOR HIS CHILDREN “He broke open the cupboard and stole the tools to get food for his children —they were crying with hunger,” said Mr. W. E. Leicester in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday when appearing for George Tallis Bailey, who admitted the theft of carpenter’s tools valued at £1 Is. Chief-Detective Kemp explained that the goods belonged to the man from whom accused was renting his house, and to whom he was in arrear with liis rent. He had been before the Court previously. Mi. Leicester said his client was the father of eight children and was out of employment. Accused was remanded until this morning for sentence.
