ENGLISH TESTS AGAINST SOUTH AFRICA SELECTORS CHOSEN London, April 29. A meeting of the Board of Control of Lord’s appointed Mr. H. D. G. Leve-son-Gower (Surrey), Mr. J. Daniell (Somerset), and Mr. J. Sharp (Lancashire) as selectors for the tests against South Africa. The umpires will be appointed by ballot. Four have been recommended by the county captains, F. Chester (Worcestershire), A. E. Street (Surrey), W. Reeves (Essex), and H. Young (Essex) being approved. A special sub-committee, consisting of Mr. H. Leveson-Gower, Mr. E. W. Mann, and Lord Marris will deal with various matters, including the question of an extra half-hour’s play on third-day matches. It has been ruled that no one shall contribute a report or statement of any kind to the Press until tho end of the season, regarding any Test for which he may be selected or in which he played Payment per match for English professionals has been fixed at £27 10s. and rail fare, and for reserves £lB and rail fare.—Reuter.
