4 SCOW LOST IN BAY OF PLENTY

Br Telegbaph—Press Association. Auckland, April 29. The auxiliary scow Onerahi was destroyed by fire in the Bay of Plenty. The fire broke out in the engineroom, when the vessel was five miles off Tairua. The scow was burnt to the water’s edge and sank. Captain J. Brown and the crew landed safely. The scow was owned by J. J. Craig, Limited. It was valued at £3OOO, and insured in the owners’ company. The cargo of coal for Whakatane was valued at £350.
