NARROW ESCAPE FROM DROWNING
. ♦- TAVO TEACHERS IN PERIL. Bv Telegraph—Press Association. Foxton. April 28. Two young school teachers, Misses Fahey and McMurray, had a escape from drowning, when their boat was swamped in midstream in the Manawatu River on Saturday afternoon. Both managed to cling to the unturned boat until recued in an exhaustedl condition by Mr. Hartley who fortunately witnessed the accident and pulled out to the rescue.
