BOWLS
EASTERN SUBURBS TOURNEY WON BY WELLINGTON CLUB’S RINK The final game in the Eastern Suburbs’ Easter boivhng tournament was played on the Lyall Bay Club’s green on Saturday afternoon in showery weather, the result being as follows^ — Wellington—Dawson, Innes, Frost, Duncan (s.), 21. ilataitai—Gully, Carswell, Claridge, R. Ramsey (s.), 13. After the rain of the early morning the green was naturally heavy, even though it was pretty bare of grass. The Wellington rink established an early lead, and when after the seventh head rain fell and stopped the game, the score stood at 10—1 in favour of Wellington, who were playing more accurately than their opponents. After about an hour the rain ceased, and though the green was well soaked it was decided to finish the game. Hataitai made a bio; fight to get upon equal terms, but could not manage it, though in this part of the game they scored 12 points to Wellington's 11. Duncan’s rink thus went through the tournament without a loss
