LOWER HUTT COTTAGE HOSPITAL At the Hospital Board 'meeting yesterday Mr A. J. McCurdy moved: “That’ tho board not having bad an opportunity to discuss the necessity or Xrwise of a cottage hospital at Lower Hutt, and having no intorma tion as to the views of the. J of Health on the subject, the entry “£2000” for such a hospital b ® from the estimates. . Air. McCurdy stated that the inclusion of the nmount on tho estimates for the year had led tho people of the Hutt to the bclier that’they were going to get a P^ eauipped cottage hospital, when as a matter of fact, tho Government had approved of nothing. The proposal had Z been before the hoard and ™ decision of any kind had ever been seconded the motion, Pl The° chairman (Mr. F. Castle) said that the amount had been placed on the estimates as a provision against the possibility that something migh be done this year but they had no definite plan ahead. They had seen Dr Valintine, who thought that the setting up of a maternity hospital was as far as th© board should go. The motion was lost on the voices.
