» ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The sessions of Grand, Lodge were continued yesterday in the Masonic Hall, Boulcott Street. A letter of welcome was received from the Wellington Ministers’ Association conveying best wishes for the prosperity of the order. The grand executive was instructed to appoint an organiser for,the Dominion at the earliest possible date. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows Grand master, Rev. G. H. Aitken (Featherston); grand de-puty-master, G. Taylor, J.P. (Auckland); grand chaplain, Rev. T. R. Woolloxall (Takapuna), grand secretary, J, W. Patton, J.P. (Dunedin); grand treasurer, I. McFarlane (Dunedin); foreman of committees, W. Glibbery (Auckland); grind director of ceremonies, J. Mo Lean (Timaru); senior deacon, C. Bowwater (Wellington); junior deacon, A. McKenzie (Rangiora); grand- inside tyler, H. Smithers (Feilding); grand outside tyler, J. Kyle (Petone); grand executive committee, E. N. Budden (Palmerston North), A. Noble (Invercargill), A. Donald, J.P. (Masterton), J. Aston, J.P. (Wellington); Gl. J. Petherick, J.P. (Wellington). The grand committee have yet to be elected. The following resolutions were passed: “That the attention of the Govern ment be called to the provisions of the Rating Act whereby certain Protestant Sunday schools are called upon to .pay rates.” "That this Grand Lodge, having ro. ceived the report of the Department of the Rt. Hon. the Minister of Education as to the revision of the history books used in the public schools, record our appreciation of his favourable reception of the said deputation and urge, the Minister to take immediate action thereon.’’ "Thai we the Loyal Orange Institution in Grand, Lodge assembled desire Ho record our high apreciation of the action of the Mayor of Wellington in refusing a civic reception to Arch-Bishop Man nix on the occassion of the recent jubilee celebrations, and also to place on record the splendid services rendered to the cause of Protestanism by Councillor J. Aston, one of our R.W.P.G. masters.’’
