SYDNEY ROYAL SHOW
NEW ZEALAND LADY RIDERS TO THE FORE. (Rec. April 22, 0.5 a.m.) Sydney, April 21. Despite unpropitious weather, great crowds again assembled at the Royal Show. Miss Vera Macmillan (New Zealand) won the novice equestrienne con. test over hurdles. During the ladies’ high jump Miss Vera Macmillan, at 6ft- 9in., was thrown. She turned a comnleto somersault, lauded on her feet and held her horse. Miss Maggie Briggs (New Zealand) gave a successful exhibition of jumping over a wire fence. Fay’s ladies’ high jump was won by Miss Briggs at 6ft. 9in, Miss Macmillan, with a jump of 6ft. 6in., dividing with five others the second and third prizes. In the equestrienne hunting contest. Miss Briggs divided with two others the second and third prizes.—Press Assn.
