Vice-Regal. His Excellency the Governor-Gener-al Viscount Jellicoe, will open a memorial library at the Timaru Boys High School to-morrow. The Minister of Internal Affairs (the lion. 11. F. Bollard) returned from the Waikato yesterday. The Director of Education (Air. .1. Cnughlcy) has left for Auckland. He will "visit Hamilton in connection with the project for the amalgamation of the technical and high schools there. j[r AV. H. Atack, manager cf the United Press Association, returned from a visit to Australia by the Marama yesterday.
At tho annual meeting of the Wellington Football Association last night, the chairman expressed the great regret with which the members had hoard of the accident to Mr. W. J. Butler, who had been an enthusiastic supporter of the game. On his motion, tho meeting passed a resolution of sympathy with Mr. Butler. A similar resolution was passed at the meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union.
Mr. A. Williams was last night reelected far Hie twenty-first time honorary secretary of the Wellington Football Association’s Management Committee.
Mr. A. E. Wells, chairman of the Wellington Football Association Alanawement Committee, who declined rcnoniination to the committee last night, has been chairman for six years and a member of the committee for eleven rears. The delegates at last night’s annual meeting enthusiastically thanked Mr. Wells for lilt past services and expressed regret at hiq retir>?ent4
