A POPULAR MOTAR DRIVE
POLL TO BE TAKEN FOR ROAD IMPROVEMENT. The improvement of one of the most popular motor drives out of Wellington may be effected if a poll of Makara ratepayers on Saturday is favourable to-tho raising of a small loan. The route is through Karori, over Makara Hill, and through kb© Makara Valley to Ohariu Bay. The work, if sanctioned by tho ratepayers, will involve taking the coiners off and improving tho road generally Tho big constructional works m connection with the final improvement of this road will come out o revenue, and the loan will merely add to the immediate! .improvement el 1 a route second in popularity only to that of the run round the bays. The rate to be levied for the loan will therefore amount only to about 7-64 d. in the Jll. It is already a road that has a greav deal of Sunday motor traffic.
