REPUBLICAN AND ROYALIST AGREEMENT

The negotiations of the new Republican Premier with the Royalist leaders, according to the newspapers, resulted in a draft agreement which was telegraphed to the King. Under the agreement His Majesty would adbicate voluntarily on condition that he retained four-fifths of the civil list, also most of th© crown domains, while internal peace would, bo obtained by a general amnesty and the reinstatement of capable officers and officials; the proclamation of the Republic by Assembly to bo ratified by a plebiscite ; the establishment of a Senate, with Royalists participating; and the holding of the elections under an impartial Government.—Reuter.
