CRISIS IN GREECE

SWING TO REPUBLICAN OUTLOOK

(Rec. February 20, 7.30 p.m.) Athens, February 19. As a result of a long debate in the Assembly, it seems, certain a republic will be proclaimed in the «near future. Since M. Venizelos retired there has been a swing to the Republican ■ outlook. Unless quickly'proclaimed, the Assembly will vote for the establishment of a republic without awaiting a plebiscite. Another reason for the action.is the belief that the Royalists are planning a fresh coup d’etat. — Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
