WHEAT HARVEST IN SOUTH CANTERBURY

The wheat harvest here is the worst for the past twenty years. It is not expected that the ’yield will bo more than a third of that of last season. Oats ore an almost total failure, and farmers here must look elsewhere for supplies of feed ‘.’.nd seed. The outlook for farmers is extrecuely unpromising. 0
