TROUBLE ON ULIMAROA

STEWARD FINED FOR ASSAULT. A dispute over the ownership of a broom caused trouble between two stewards on the ■Utiinaroa, and the difference was not settled until yesterday, when one of them, L. Davis, came before Mr. E. Page, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court on a charge of assaulting Charles Neville. A plea of guilty under provocation was entered. Defendant was fined. £3, and costs, half of the penalty being directed to be handed the complainant.
