The party intends to use its majority to adopt a resolution to-morrow asking for n round-table cotlference to draft a scheme of full responsible government. Failing Government response tlio party intends to refuse supplies next month. On the occasion of the Budget discussion tho Assembly adopted bv 77 votes to 39 against the Government an Opposition non-oflicial resolution urging tho imposition of a couutorveiling duty on South African coal to tho extent of the bounty allowed, by the Union Government. Sir Charles Innes, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, declared that’ existing conditions were favourable, and if the coal industry utilised them there was no need for special protection.—Router.
