ELECTRIC SUPPLY FOR ASHBURTON
• A SUBSIDIARY SCHEME. By Telegraph—Press Association. Ashburton, February 4. The Power Board adopted a scheme for tapping the north branch of the Ashburton River, near Pudding Hill. The scheme, which will cost £30.000, will supplement the Ashburton share of the Lake Coleridge supply by 467 horse-power at "low river.” The scheme involves a concrete dam and the conveyance of water several miles across-country through fluming.
