STEAMER BURNED
WHARF AND SMALL CRAFT DAAIAGED. Washington, January 27. A fire to-night burned the steamer Alidland to the water’s edge. Damage to the wharf and to smaller craft represents 500,000 dollars. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. [The Alidland was a steel screw steamer of 1535 tons. She was built at Newport News in 1895. and belonged to the Norfolk andUWashington Steamboat Co.l
