The British railway strike produced a contretemps at the Covent Garden Theatre, London, where the management announced at the end-if the second act of “Siegfried” that Florence Austral was delayed during her journey, therefore it was obliged to complete the performance! with the first act of “Die Walkure.” Florence Austral, instead of slumbering on a rock, was travelling from Forfar. She arrived at Euston after delays, but was too late to be awakened by Siegfried.
