EGYPTIAN POLITICS

“READY TO CONFER WITH BRITISH MINISTRY” SPEECH BY ZAGHLUL (Rec. January 28, 0.20 a.m.) Cairo, January 27. Zaghlul Pasha, in a speech at a banquet in his honour, attended by 195 deputies, esteemed it fortunate that the British Ministry had obtained a power which was well disposted to uphold the principles of right and justice. Egyptians were prepared to confer with this Ministry with a view to obtaining real ndependence, while inspecting reasonable and acceptable British interests not clashing therewith . He testified to the help already given and likely to continue to be given by foreign residents, who should be treated with traditional hospitality. Egyptians and foreigners must live peacefully together for the common good.—Reuter.
