ARRESTED FOR THEFT OF UNION FUNDS By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, January 26. R. D. Martin, secretary of the Bakers’ and Pastrycooks’ Union, was arrested to-day on a charge of theft of moneys belonging to the union. Martin was at one time a member of the City Council (beating C. H. Agar at a by-election), but he was not re-elected at the last election. He also stood unsuccessfully for Kaiapoi at the last Parliamentary election.
