Shortly after midnight fire gutted the premises in Alain Street,, of lurner, tobacconist, and Skinner, mercer and clothier. The goods were practically all • destroyed.. Turner’s stock was insured for £IUW, and the estimated loss is £750ner's stock was insured for £3000,, ana he estimates the loss at about £LOW. The building is the property of the Combs Estate. It carried insurances aggregating £l5OO, and is valued a about £2OOO.
