FOWL WHEAT
IMPORTATION MAY BE PERMITTED.
Complaints have been reaching the Government regarding the present high prices of fowl feed wheat —prices that are pressing hardly on those engaged in the poultry industry. The Hon. W. Nosworthy (Minister of Agriculture) has, under the circumstances, been asked to permit the importation of fowl wheat from overseas. He is prepared to favourably consider this proposal, and is now examining the facts. In the event of the importation of such wheat it will be distributed mainly in the North Island and to poultry interests only.
