PRESENTATION OF LIGHT CRUISER MODEL. During the Great War most of the ships of the British Navy made individual history. Not the least notable among them, in the nature of. its achievements, was the light cruiser Sentinel, which served all through the war, and was finally paid off in April, 1919. Yesterday afternoon a representative gathering of members, of the Navy League assembled in Vickers House, Woodward Street,. on the occasion of the. presentation by Messrs. Vickers, Limited, represented by Mrs. S. Blackley, of a beautiful model of the Sentinel. Although the model will be in the custody of the Wellington branch, of the Navy League the presentation is really to the Navy League of New Zealand. It is intended that .the model will be transported to various schools of the Dominion, and there placed on exhibition for the patriotic education of the children. Mr. J. P. Firth, on behalf of the Wellington branch of the Navy League, thanked Mr. Blackley, and through him the firm of. Vickers, Limited, for their generosity.
