REDUCED DENTAL FEES
CONCESSIONS FOR FAMILIES AT AUCKLAND To further assist persons unable to afford dental treatment, tho Auckland Hospital Board has dbcided to permit families earning less than £5 per week for a man with a wife and three children to receive treatment at reduced rates. Hitherto, reports the “Herald,” families whose, collective income was over £4 per week have been debarred from treatment, but it was pointed out by the Relief Committee that this minimum was too low. In endorsing tho committee’s opinion. the chairman. Air. AV. Wallace, said the basis had been fixed under pre-wnr conditions, and a higher minimum was completely justified. The door would thus be opened to a great many more pooplp who were unable to pay full rates for dental treatment.
