BLIZZARD SWEEPS SOUTH OF •••V ENGLAND GREAT STORMS IN BAY OF BISCAY Bt Telegraph —Pnzss Association. COPYRIGHT. (Rec. January 10, 10.55 p.m.) London, January 9. There has been a remarkable blizgard in southern England, with the worst snowstorms since 1919. A bleak easterly gale caused heavy drifts. Twenty-five degrees of frost were registered at Dumfries. Great storms are raging in the Bay is Biscay. Much damage has been done to shipping in French ports and rivers. Fishermen describe the storm as the worst in living memory. It has been raining all day in Pans where it is feared that the floods will resume their destructive course. —Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
