OLD MAN ROBBED IN SAVINGS BANK Bt Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, January 10. An audacious theft was i>erpetrated at the Chief Post Office at 3 p.m. yesterday, which resulted in Henrv Lovell, an elderly man, losing £l4l 12s. 4d. Lovell had withdrawn the amount of his account from the savings bank, and took the notes and coin to a desk to count them. Recollecting he had loft the cover of his book at another desk, ho left the money and went to get it The money had disappeared when ifo returned. ITie numbers of the notes are known.
