STATE CONTROL FAVOURED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Taumarunui, December 14. The Taumarunui County Council, at its monthly meeting, discussed ajetter from the Director of the State Forest Service concerning the proposal for State control of sawmill tram lilies. Tlie following resolution was carried: “To minimise the economic waste consequent on the monopoly of transport now existing in'various districts, this council strongly supjiorts the principle of State control of timber tramways so far as is necessary.
