R.S.A. MAY ADOPT SCHEME
A proposal that returned soldiers be accorded the cash purchase allowed to public servants was put before the Wellington R.S.A. last night. Briefly, tho scheme is that members pay 2s. 6d. a year, for administrative expenses. Certain firms have agreed to allow discount on. various household needs, incTiiiTing groceries, boots and clothing, coal, crockery—even to den-
tistry. The Dunedin R.S.A. has adopted the system, with tho lesult that the membership lias grown from 600 to 1000 in three years.
“This is an old bird that has had his tail feathers ruffled before,” said Mr. M: Badger, who, however, supported the scheme. “It is time to butt in. and adopt it,” he said. Tho chairman suggested waiting for a fuller meeting, as there were only about a score of members present. It was decided that the executive should consider the matter, and have tho details of tho scheme displayed in the club, so that members may understand it before any definite action is taken by the association.
