The Supreme Court sessions opened to-day before Mr. Justice MacGregor, who in his address to the, grand jury congratulated the district on the absence of sexual offences and serious crime. There are only three criminal cases on the calender and a true bill was found in each. The hearing was commenced of a charge of manslaughter against Florence Orr. arising out of a motor accident .in which a small girl was knocked down and died from her injuries. . Before tho formal business was hemin His Honour was congratulated by the local Bar on his appointment to the Sunreme Court Bench, and on his first official visit to Gisborne.
