MR. MASSEY
A TOUCHING INCIDENT At a recent dinner in London, Mr. Massey’s speech was distributed by wireless over the United Kingdom, a receiver having been concealed in a bowl of flowers in front of him. He had been informed of this enterprise but had forgotten it, and was rather surprised to receive letters from his native town of Limavady, in the North of Ireland, and from a New Zealand family in the South of Scotland stating that his speech had been heard and much enjoyed. The letter from Scotland was as follows: —“Will you permit us, a JS’ew Zealand family now residing in tho south of Scotland, to congratulate you on, and to thank yon for, tho spirited and inspiring speech delivered by you at the Hotel Victoria last night, and broadcasted. We ‘listened in’ for you, and your words came to us clear as crystal, bringing with them, wo felt, the hall-mark of a true and; patriotic heart. Your great work for tho British Empire we watch with pride and interest, and we wish you all good luck.”
