GILT-EDGED SECURITY. AUCKLAND ELECTRIC POWER BOARD’S £250,000 DEBENTURE ISSUE. Tn order to complete the purchase from the Auckland City Council of the Citv Power Plant, and the electrical system in the citv and suburban areas, the Auckland Electric Power Board is raising a loan of £250,000: repayable in 21 rears. Those, with £lOO, or any multiple of £lOO. to invest, are afforded a splendid opportunity of putting their money out on gilt-edged security. with interest at the rate of 5J- per cent, per annum. The debentures are secured on a special rate of oneeighth of a penny in the pound’ on the rateable value of the Auckland Electric Power District, such rateable value amounting to £43,469,650. They meet all the requirements of the New Zealand Government, as regards investments for trust, which fact is the finest, recommendation it is possible to secure. The denominations are £lOO, £5OO and £1000; and no matter bow low' tho rate of interest may fall in the future. 51 per cent, per annum is assured from this investment, payable lialf-vearlv.
