CONCERT AT TOWN HALL

CREDITABLE EFFORT BY COLLEGE STUDENTS.

A delightful concert, under the auspices of the Wellington College Old Boys’ Association, completely filled tho large Town Halt last night when a choice programme of items ranging from musical, elocutionary, and vocal numbers to physical drill, by trained students, made diversified and pleasing entertainment. Encores were the order, and Mr. Harry Wilson’s accompaniments were a feature. The following contributed items: —Mr. D. W. MacKenzie. piano solo. “Polonaise in A Major” (Chopin), and “Night in. May”: Mr. W. Cooley, song. “Nightingale of .Tune”: Mr. G. 1. Josephs, violin solo, “Mazurka” (Mylanarnniski); College choir, songs, “Play Up” and “Forty Years On”; Mr. A. A. O. Grant, recitation. “Mr. Squeers Returns”; Mr. K. R. Small, song. “Love’s Old 'Sweet Song”; instrumental quartet (Messrs. F. H. Mullins. Tv. Tanner, F. Martinelli, and C. M. Darling). “Serenata.” Minuet (Paderewski), and “Georgette”: Mr. MCarroll, song, “Davs of Jov”: Messrs. R. IV. Archer and F. G. Watkins, duet, “Come to Our Mountains”: Mr. F. H. Mullins,, pianoforte solo. “Preside in G Minor” (Rachmaninoff) and “Ma.rch Grotesque” (Si.nding): Mr. W. Marshall, song, “The Last Call”: Miss Zelnia Carroll. humorous recitation. “The Aspiring DislnUasher”: Messrs. T. Jenkins and IV. Marshall, duct, “Watchman, What of the Niiht?”: Mrs. A. F. Burge, sonjr ~H n . ppv’ Sod?”: Mr. H. F. Wood. “Atlilone” and “Solly Horner”: Miss Marr Cooler, monologue- male quartet (Messrs. T. Jenkins. F. Williams. H. D. Poole, and IV. Marshall). “Tn Absence” and “The Toper’s Glee.” The college senior phvs'cal training squad, instructed bv Mr. P. Thomson, gave an interesting display of physical drill. It is estimated that the college pavilion fund, for w'.ncn the concert was principally convened, will be substantially augmented as ft result of tho entertainment.
