HOMING PIGEONS
The Petone Homing Pigeon Club hold its weekly race from Auckland, on Friday last.’ The birds were liberated at Auckland by mistake by the railway officials on Friday morning instead of Saturday. Thirty-three birds from eight lofts competed (air line distance 305 miles). The following were the results: — Mr. J. Crainfield’s bine chq. c.. 25, 1920, Bhr. 37min. 47sec„ velocity 1037yds. per minute; Mr. K. Hoare's red chq. e., 191, 1919 9hr. Omin. Usee., 993vds. per minute; Mr.’ J. Polio-k’s bine chq. e... 282, 1920, 91ir. Iniin. 22see.. 993yds. per minute; Mr. J. Bolton’s blue chq. h.. 527, 1921, Itlhr.. 90IZds. per minute. The above wore the only lofts to time in on the day. Next week’s race will be from Frankton Junction.
