The Caledonian Society held a most successful gathering on Wednesday evening Jo celebrate Hallow’eon at tho New Century Hall. The hall was crowded anti qiiite a number were unable to obtain admission. Tho evening was opened by the wociwiy’s pipe band, under the leadership of Pipe-Major T. A. Macdonald. Tho usual customs were observed, which included ducking for apples, also grabbing treacled buns. Tho other portion of the programme consisted of a concert and dance, popular Items being given by Misses Phillis McMillan. Z. Carroll, and Mr. D. Stark, items contributed by the society’s Highland dancers were highly appreciated. A large number of visitors (including the members of the newly-formed Hutt Valiev Caledonian Society) were present, and comptlmeiited Ike society on the success of the gathering,.
