ALLEGED KNIFE-PLAY

SERIOUS CHARGE AGAINST A HUSBAND

Charles Woodward, a gardener, aged 72 j-ears, was charged in the Magistrate's Court on Saturday, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., with assaulting Anna Woodward, his wife, so as to cause her actual bodily harm. Woodward was remanded to appear on September 1.

Accused is living apart from his wife and it is alleged that on Saturday morning he went to her house, refused to leave when requested to do so, and attacked her with a pocket knife, cutting her wrist rather badly.
