LINKING-UP EMPIRE

NETWORK OF AIRWAYS (Rec. August 23, 5.5 p.m.) London, August 22. The “Daily Chronicle’'. states that the Government is ordering the construction of three types of giant allmetal passenger aeroplanes as standard craft for the Empire air routes. Ono type has a single , engine for use on trans-European airways. Other types are equipped with three engines each, and are intended for the Middle East airways. The Government’s intention was to link up all parts, of the Empire with a network of airways. The carrying capacity of the machines is indefinite.
